Name: Ventus
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Canon: Kingdom Hearts
Timeline: Post Dream Drop Distance
Background: He is mostly canon and will have the same memories as canon. One thing that should be noted, is that since Ven went after Terra on his own, he didn't get the same talk to Master Eraqus. As such, he doesn't know he's not suppose to reveal there are other worlds to other people, although he doesn't go out of his way to reveal it. However, after Dream Drop Distance, where he's seen smiling, things change and I add a bit of an AU twist. As I saw nothing against AU characters, I hope this will be alright.
At the end of DDD, Sora find the Chamber of Waking in a dream. He can talk to Ventus, despite him still being asleep, although his voice only in his head. They talk about how Sora's been looking for Ventus, who says he hasn't moved. When Sora mentions it's been ten years since he went to sleep, it comes as a great shock to Ventus. He asks what happened to Terra and Aqua but Sora doesn't know. About to wake from his dream, Sora opens his heart and asks how he can help Ventus. In doing this, he allows Ven's heart to return to him. However, before Ventus can awaken, Sora vanishes, waking from his dream. He forgets all about the dream on waking, although he has the feeling he should be helping someone. Meanwhile, back in the Chamber of Waking, Ventus wakes to find himself completely alone. Alone in a white room with no discernible way out, he searches for almost five hours to find a hidden passage or doorway to let him leave. Unable to find one, he begins to panic, worrying about what will happen to him if he's trapped there all alone. He spends another hour tormenting himself with his thoughts before he finally breaks down crying. One of his tears splashes on the charm Aqua made for him, the green star Wayfinder. It activates, glowing, and that leads him to a small hidden panel in the throne, which contains a Star Shard. This he takes and finally leaves the Chamber, but not without consequence. Those several hours spent alone in that room, convinced he'd be trapped there forever, left a small scar on his heart. He now can't stand to be alone for too long and hates sleeping alone. He's afraid to go to sleep alone, for fear of waking up back in that Chamber.

Personality: He has a heart full of light, which gives him an air of innocence. Along with this air, he has a certain bit of naivete, in which he gives people the benefit of the doubt. The light in his heart also is the source of his greatest power, belief. If he believes in something or someone, he follows that belief with an almost innocent, childlike faith. He tends to believe what he's told most of the time as well, which is how he got into trouble in the first place. If he hadn't believed the masked boy (Vanitas) when he talked about Terra, he wouldn't have gone off on his own. Despite his knack for finding trouble, he is equally good at getting out of it and somehow managing to be alright, if not come out on top. He's a bit rebellious at times. He shows this from the very beginning, whether it's during the Master Keyblade exam when Aqua tells him to wait in his room or when he chases after Terra when he leaves. In a way, this is just another aspect of his childlike nature. Part of his rebellion stems from the fact that he doesn't want to be too far from his friends and will go to any length just to stay with them. Again, the evidence is shown when he chases after Terra. Although he wants to stay near them, help them, and protect them, he also respects both Terra and Aqua. When they tell him he can't go with them in Radiant Garden, he listens despite his protests. He's very stubborn and once he sets his mind to do something, he does it. He doesn't give up easily either. There are several instances of this in canon, from the first world, where he is constantly trying to persuade the dwarves to pursuing Terra. Even Aqua's pleas for him to go home with her can't dampen his determination.
He can't stand anyone bad mouthing his friends and becomes reckless whenever he hears such talk. He'll do anything to prove otherwise or fight to defend their honor as he's also very protective of them. In a way, he's a bit like a knight. However, his faith in people is easily swayed by what he hears as well, which is a bit of a contradiction in itself. When the witches bad mouth Terra, his faith in his friend begins to dwindle despite his desperate efforts to find him again. It is Aqua who help restore his equilibrium and find the truth he knows in his heart. Even when he finds himself in a difficult situation, whether it's difficult to understand like being shrunk down to the size of a mouse or just difficult to deal with, he gets frustrated and upset. However, that frustration quickly dissipates once he finds someone who's willing to be kind to him. A little bit of kindness turns his heart of light to mush. He's cheerful generally to a fault. He likes to smile and laugh, greeting everyone he meets pleasantly. This is seen several times in canon. He wants to be on friendly terms with most people he meets, which contributes greatly to his helpful persona. He's very kind and sweet to people, especially to those he doesn't know. He easily makes friends, although Terra and Aqua will always hold a special place in his heart as his best friends. He's always looking to make new friends, so any chance he gets, he tries to befriend someone. He also has a protective streak in him. Because of his general helpfulness, he can't stand by and just watch as someone's bullied.
He gets very uncertain about himself and the relationships he has with other people. He needs reassurance about who he is to people. He knows to know about his standing in relationships or else he becomes uneasy, like he did when he was left behind by both his friends in Radiant Garden. When that happens, he begins to question everything he knows about the relationships he's had until then. He lets himself dwell on memories, trying to sort out everything on his own. It's in rare moments like these that his cheerful demeanor disappears. Even in his worry, however, he still manages to keep moving forward and meet new people. He seeks out new friendships in hopes of understanding his current relationships. He is also very curious; he wants to know a little of everything and loves to talk. He tends to get really excited about new things and loves learning about them. It's because of his friendly attitude that he goes out of his way not purposely pick too many fights or resort to violence. Of course, if someone is threatened or could end up seriously hurt, he will fight with little hesitation.
He isn't able to cope with betrayal easily and it hurts him deeply. This is evident by how he deals with his former mentor. He could possibly forgive such a betrayal but it would take time and his trust would need to be earned back. However, he knows his former master will never regret what he did to him, so he will never trust him again. As for Master Eraqus, while he viewed him as a surrogate uncle figure, the attack on him wounded his heart deeply. It was the second betrayal he received from a master and this stung more. Seeing him attack Terra because of him was what hurt him the most. He is very brave, willing to risk his life and his heart in order to fight and protect his friends. This is shown when he literally sacrifices himself for his friends, destroying the x-blade and his heart along with it. Still, he has a childish side and while he doesn't mind being spoiled by Terra and Aqua, he dislikes that he isn't allowed to follow them everywhere, even if they're doing it to keep him safe. He acts a bit spoiled and willful with his friends, wanting things to go his way and to be allowed to do what he wants. Still, despite this childish side, he can be understanding at times when they tell him 'no' although he's still upset by it. He doesn't mind being the youngest, though, in fact enjoying it as it means he gets special attention from the two of them. He does pout a bit when he's treated like a child, however. He dislikes that, wanting to be seen as his friends' equal, not their charge. He's a bit hypocritical though, because while he complains when they do it to him, he does it several times in the game. He tells Stitch, Donald Duck, Goofy and even Hercules to stay behind and let him handle it. One final note is that he doesn't get angry often but when he does, it's like a switch. He can flip it and rage at someone and then suddenly turn it off so he can deal with any situation that might be at hand. Once that situation is over, however, the switch will be flipped again.
Why is your character a good fit for the setting of Soul Campaign, and what will they do once they are in the game?
Ventus is the hero type. He's a protector and a defender, wanting to help and serve as best as he can. While he chooses not to fight, he is a fighter and very good at it. He is thought to still hold the x-blade somewhere deep in his heart. Since he recovered almost completely, theoretically, so did the blade. If this is true, he's avoided mentioning it.
List the abilities your character will still have in Soul Campaign:
Speed and agility like you wouldn't believe. He's very fast, bordering almost on inhuman, which is a reflection on his name which means wind. His agility is also very high, another reflection on his name. He also has years of training and experience in both combat and fighting. He's average when it comes to street fighting but rather good at actual combat. He's no master, however.
List the weaknesses your character will gain (or lose) in Soul Campaign:
His accuracy in his attacks were lost thanks to the BREW. He's not as accurate as he used to be, which bothers him greatly. This effects his attack's strength as well. He will also lose a little of his strength. However, the BREW also removed the limits of his stamina, which increased it. He can now last much longer in a battle, as well as do other things for longer periods of time. His improved stamina also increases his speed and agility a bit.
[ WEAPON ] or [ MEISTER ]
Weapon suits his personality better. While he's good at fights, unless he's riled he tends to avoid them. He has experience in tactical fights and a bit as a keyblade wielder, or a "soldier" in other terms. He can help his meister and give them advice when it comes to using him in a battle.
Soul Description:
His soul is in the shape of a heart and it has a keyhole in the center of it. However, those with Soul Perception will probably note that a small piece of it seems to be missing. Or, rather, that it disappears from time to time. His soul is pure white, although there's a small shadow on the part that disappears. It also glows with a soft light and those who see it will be momentarily warmed by the sight.
The six adjectives describing his personality are charisma, cheerful, helpful, bright, stubborn, and innocence. I chose these six because they seemed to suit him best. He seems to have charisma in the game, naturally attracting others to him. He also is very cheerful. He's helpful, which is shown by him trying to help others through out the game. He has an innate brightness to him, a quality that can't quite be summed up as charisma but still draws others to him. He's stubborn at times, almost childishly so. And he's innocent, having a childlike faith and belief in certain matters, such as friendship.
(Weapon Form) / Ability:
His appearance is a that of a keyblade and a scythe. It looks like the Lost Memory keyblade except it's black and grey instead of the usual off white. However, the handle is different as it has a set of wings on it as well. Another difference is the keyblade is slightly longer and the tip extends out into a scythe. As per usual, the keyblade works similar to a sword. He has difficulty doing the full body transformation and needs to practice to hold that form for longer than ten minutes but his right arm can transform with ease. As for the general abilities I think it should have, I think it should be able to give the meister the ability to fly for a limited amount of time. The time limit is open to discussion, but I was thinking maybe 1 to 2 minutes at first and it would gradually get longer with practice.

Ah, I forgot to ask the guides who showed me my room. Am I supposed to have a roommate or something? Or do I just live in this room alone? I don't mind, either's fine of course, but if I could, I'd really like a roommate. Is anyone looking?
Third-Person
The first thing Ven noticed when he woke up was that he was lying face down on the floor. What happened? With a small groan, he sat up and looked around. He started to get worried when he realized how dark it was. What was going on? It shouldn't be this dark. There were no windows at all in this room, leave a stale taste to the air. He hated that taste, that smell, and shivered a little in fear. Had he been kidnapped? As his eyes adjusted to the lack of light, he took in his surroundings with care. In the center of the room, two large statues caught his attention. They appeared to be connected, although the chains binding them together seemed strange to him. Also strange was the fact they were covered in seals and caution tape. He'd never seen anything like it before. Where had he been brought to? It must be another world but he didn't remember travelling to one. Had he accidentally activated the Star Shard? No, that was impossible, since it would still be in his hand.
Still taking in his surroundings, Ventus stands slowly. There's evidence all around him that many battles were fought here, some even recently. The dents and craters blasted into the walls and ceiling aren't the only proofs noticed by him. There are some scuff marks on the floor as well. Spotting the large stone doors, he takes a few steps toward them, then stops. These are also sealed. Had he been sealed in this room? But why would anyone do that? He wasn't a threat, a danger to anyone else. He frowns, wincing at the memories rising to the surface in the back of his mind. No, that wasn't entirely true. He could be considered a danger, although he didn't think he was. He had no thoughts on releasing the x-blade again. He shouldn't have been trapped in here. He tries to summon his keyblade, hoping to unlock the door before him, only to feel his whole world tilted on it's side. He can't summon his keyblade. Has he also been sealed? He can feel the inklings of panic beginning to build up inside of him when something odd happens, momentarily distracting him. Above him, three large screens suddenly appear, showing a red-haired figure. Hearing the authority in his voice calms Ven slightly and he listens to what he has to say.
It seems he had indeed been brought to another world. One called Nevada? He'd never heard of it before but that wasn't surprising. There were as many worlds as there were stars in the sky. He couldn't possibly know them all by name. Apparently, in the world Nevada, he was in a city called Death City. It also appeared that he'd been brought at the worst, or possibly the best, time possible; right in the middle of a war. He had been brought here by accident, as it seemed no one could control the Demon Tool BREW that brought him here. At least, they didn't have time to figure it out until the war was over. There's another spike of panic as he's told that his powers--namely, his access to the keyblade--are gone. Even being told to calm down has little effect this time and there's several minutes of hyperventilating before Ven finally manages to calm down. A keyblade wielder without a keyblade--if anyone he knew heard of this, he'd be shamed for life. He's beginning to really dislike the BREW when Spirit again begins to explain, saying that it's the reason he lost his powers. However--he looks up hopefully--it appears he'll have gained powers natural to this world in the place of the ones he's lost. He's told he's either, how did Spirit put it? Either a meister or a weapon. After being explained what both these things are, Ven calms again. He can still help people, even if his usual method has been cut off from him.
When he's given the choice, Ven doesn't hesitate. Between being a civilian and helping out as a Shibusen, the choice is clear. He immediately agrees to join the Shibusen and fight the witches. He'll help out in this war, wanting to give aid to this world. After all, that's part of what being a keyblade wielder is about, right? He's supposed to help people. Thanking Spirit for helping him understand everything that's going on, he's more than happy to hear that others have shown up here as well. Maybe he can be reunited with his friends, Terra and Aqua! Eagerly agreeing to contact the other guests, he takes the communicator and his brow immediately furrows in confusion. What is this? How's he supposed to use it? Before he can ask Spirit, though, he's being escorted away. Oh well. He'll just have to figure it out on his own it seems.
